Forest Stewardship

Healthy Douglas-fir seedling (1 year since planting).

Our forest stewardship includes the practices of silviculture and sustainability. Silviculture is the practice of controlling the establishment, growth, composition, health and quality of the forests to meet diverse needs and values.

Our goal is to manage, control and operate the Cascade Lower Canyon Community Forest business and affairs considering all partnerships involved. This includes the Yale First Nation, the District of Hope and the Fraser Valley Regional District.

The Cascade Lower Canyon Community Forest has appointed a board of directors. These members have the power to make community forest decisions in the best interests of the community forest and surrounding communities.
